Godfrey Afebuame is an artiste who through his calling as a painter, has used the celebration of beauty to enshrine aesthetic values in the moral and artistic consciousness of his viewers.

A native of Edo State, Nigeria, Godfrey was born on the 4th of June in Ibadan, Oyo State. He studied Fine Arts at The Polytechnic, Ibadan and the famous Auchi Polytechnic, Edo State where he bagged a Distinction in Painting in 1992.

He is a credible multi-award winner, and has to his credit, several prices and awards, including the Rector Certificate of Excellence and Fasuyi Prize for Best Student in Painting, 1992.

His life paintings are an extension of functional simplicity and his handling fluctuate from impressions and strokes to near abstraction. Over the years, he has mastered his technique, and has participated in group and solo exhibitions within the country.
