Uwa was founded in 2022  by Winifred Okafor, in Abuja to basically upcycle coconut waste from Bonita Foods into beautiful, sustainable and handmade functional products.

Bothered by the scale of discarded coconut shells by the Bonita factory in its daily production of coconut snacks, Winifred naturally started looking into ways to rescue and utilize these coconut shells and that’s how it all began.
